Hello everyone!
It's been a pretty good week in Marysville! Not too much to report since we just emailed on Wednesday, but things are definitely going well.
I got a new companion: Sister Farmer! She's from Centerville Utah, 19 years old, did a year at BYU, and is very excited to be out and working hard! She doesn't need much training because she's a natural and she seems to know her way around Marysville already! It's always stressful for me to train, but it really helps when your trainee is awesome!
Eric is doing really well. I keep getting overwhelmed with the thought of him one day going through the temple and having an eternal family. I know that working towards baptism is the first step, but the beauty in the Gospel is that you can always progress! Exaltation is eternal progression. We are so blessed.
I love this gospel. I love this church so much. I love the way I was raised because my parents are worthy temple goers. I'm so grateful for the many many blessings that I receive each day and I'm grateful that I can have a hope for eternal families. I'm grateful for so many things, but mostly my Savior, Jesus Christ who understands me perfectly. Through Him I can find peace, joy, happiness, growth, and eternal life. Alma 7:11-14
In other news my companion has crashed her bike (nothing serious yet) at least 4 times and she continues to sing hymns while doing it.. haha I love her!

Padiuxi Thanks for getting that package out. I am already learning more
Spanish and zapoteco. It's crazy because it's old Spanish and the
spellings weren't canonized yet. It uses Latin in random places so
it's good that I know Latin too. I learned that the zapoteco people were
very similar to the degrading society of the Nephites. Human
sacrifices and everything. Crazy. Anyways. On a happier note. I got to
baptize a convert from Camden yesterday. Woo! I didn't know he was
going to ask me to do it and he called on Thursday while we were
planning so that was sweet. Um the man from last week did not keep the
appointment so sad for him but while we were on the way to his house I
ran into people from Camden that were stopping by for only five
minutes in Bridgeton. Little things that mean a lot.
We taught a man named Rome. (Jerome) and taught him the restoration one
day and explained that everything rested on the Book of Mormon. He was
atheist but studied the bible a lot. The next time we taught about the
Book of Mormon and how Christ can command the molecules. The next time
we really laid out the plan of salvation from beginning to end. We
explained that God was like us once. And that we were intelligences.
And he eventually came to the conclusion that he would be full bred
Mormon or else he would take the world with atheism. I like that.
I feel like people need to understand how white and black it is. Other
side note, I bought brown shoes for six dollars. And I sewed part of my
pants. Elder minnich sewed another part or should I say he darned
them? I learned what darning means ; to mend by sewing. Haha I got to
see my boy two more times because we had zone conference and then the
baptism. His Spanish is improving. I don't know what else I should
say. But I know this is where we should be in this church and that if
you don't know or have forgotten why, It's because you do not pray to
know if it is true. Also you do not sincerely seek to humble yourself and
repent according to the answer that you receive. Read 2 nephi 32. And
then you might feel a bit humbled and want to ask again. And you will
receive an answer.

Lieber alles,
It was a good week here in Landshut! Last monday we had family home evening with some ward members and my german was put to the test! they asked me how many siblings I had and I said 10 and they kinda freaked out a little!! Then in complete german I was able to explain my families situation and basically my whole story. It was crazy because I was throwing words out there that I didn´t even know that I knew. The Gift of Tongues is real and it has helped me so much out here on the mission because I know that as long as i open my mouth that the Lord will speak through me even if I don´t know exactly what I am saying the investigators will. We had interviews with president this week and it was really cool to just sit down with him and just talk about the missionary and hear the input he had for me and how much his advice helped. A mission president is really called of God they carry such a strong spirit with them and they are here to help and they do an amazing job. We are lucky for 2 reasons... 1. Our mission president served his mission here in Germany and knows what its like and really helps us better meet the needs of this german people and how to better contact and teach them. 2. Our mission president was one of the main guys that helped write Verkündet mein Evangelium! or Preach my Gospel, so he really knows mission work and helps so much! There isn´t a lot to talk about for this week because all 8 of our appointments we had set up for this week fell through. It has been hard on Elder Garrett because he wants so bad for me to have a good start to my mission, but having 8 appointments fall through when you get to the doorstep is tough. But he said something really cool to me that stuck out after our last appointment fell through. He said "The Lord must really trust you" I asked him what he meant by that and he said that the Lord obviously trust you enough to start you in an area like this and with a start like this and trusts that you will come out of the struggle at the start a strong missionary. I thought about that for a while because I didn´t feel discouraged about what had happened but here an ex zone leader was saying that this was tough and that this isn´t how the mission normally is and it made me excited because I thought that this was just the norm of the mission to get shut down but now I know that is not the case but that right now God is testing me and my comp and we are just going to keep working hard so that if we have another week like this its not ALL 8 appointments fall through its ALL 15 because we will have more people to teach and give the greatest gift, this GOSPEL.

Dear Family and Friends,
We went to the Washington DC Temple on Saturday. We went with a less active member
that we helped come back. It was super awesome. It was my first time with the new video
and Spanish so it was a bit overwhelming. We got to have a mini
orientation with the temple president because Elder Hardy, my old
companion, was the escort. That opened my eyes quite a bit. I
understood everything in Spanish but it was still weird. Super good
day. We are doing well in Bridgeton and we are finding people still. We found
Ten new people this week. We are still the leaders in the district and we
didn't even get to work on Saturday or Friday night. I got to stay in
Camden Friday night with my golden (greenie) that I didn't get to
finish training. He is learning a lot. There should be a baptism from
a man we were teaching when I left this next Sunday. Oh bonus news. I
found out that someone I was teaching in Philly actually got baptized!
I'm not a failure in Philly! It's a long time after I left but was is we set him
with a date with him for like two weeks after I hadleft Philly.
When the appointment came around, they had neglected to talk to the dad
about it. They had to work with the dad a bit so he could be
ready to baptize him. So that's exciting news. We had people at church
this week. Working hard and loving it. We taught a man that we found
in his backyard while looking for someone else. We were really bold
with him. He had told us that the most important thing to him was his
family and we told him that if that was true then he would listen to
our message but he was still shrugging us off. Somehow, the
conversation changed a bit and I told him that he knew we
had a message of truth that would bless his family and he was scared.
I told him that look me in the eye and tell me that he
didn't know this was true. He didn't even attempt to look up
at me. ( weird being tall) He continued to not really care what we
were saying. I told him that he had now his second chance (He had
talked to missionaries before) to accept the gospel and if he didn't
we would be before him at the judgement saying we tried to help him.
He didn't want to set an appointment for a specific time. Elder
Minnich said that we were very serious about this. I shook his hand
and said I'm sorry. As we started to walk away,
he said, "You said Saturday at eight? I'll do my best to be there."
I hope that really stuck with him and we will make some
serious progress with him. There are a lot of lessons where Elder
Minnich and I do the good cop bad cop. From the story I'm sure you can
guess who is who. Haha talk to everyone and follow the spirit and
don't be overly worried about being bold. Christ offended lots of
people because they couldn't accept the truth but He still had a love
that is hard to comprehend. That's what I'm working on this week
really putting myself in their shoes and asking if I would want to
hear from myself. So, I think, I finally got a good missionary letter
after sixteen months woo! I think the temple helped.

Family and Friends!
All is well in the Great OCM! I'm very grateful this week that I actually love change. I thrive off of it.. well out here I do anyways. I was anxious to lose our great Mission President and Wife but I can see how blessed the mission is now that President Daines is here. He likes to stick right to the books and I really love it.. He also likes to shake things up which makes the mission very interesting.. I love it!
So I'm very sad to be losing Sister Hendrickson, but I'm really excited to have the calling of a trainer again. I know that the Lord will need to be helping me every step of the way, but I'm very grateful to have this learning experience.. again.. hopefully I won't have to give my baby away to LDS family services.. The zone has already nicknamed her "Baby Love" haha she is in for a treat!
Everything else is great. Eric is so excited! He shaved the other day and told us it was for his interview for a job. Later on we found out it was because he wants to impress our Bishop haha He is doing really well. We've taught him almost everything now and He's soaking it in like a sponge! We do need to build up our teaching pool a bit more, but I'll always be working on that!

Hello USA,
So we left the MTC last Wednesday and headed to Deutschland! We had problems with some of the sisters getting the luggage through so we had literally no time in the airport and that stunk because I didn´t get to call home. But the flight was good I saw by a british guy who was way sick and exchanged emails so now if I ever go back to Manchester I have a place to stay ha! When we landed in München we got detain for like an hour and a half because we didn´t have our visa´s with us and the po-po got a little mad with us ha but we ended getting out and it was nice to be out of that airport. After the airport the very first thing we did was get on a s-bahn for an hour. We had our first finding experience and only could use German haha. But it was really cool especially the first lady because she was from northern Germany! It´s like my ancestor are just following me around and give the things I need to find out more about them. But me and this lady were talking and she asked me about my vorfahren (ancestors) and I told here that they came from northern Germany and I was trying to learn more about them and that´s when she told me that she was from northern Germany and so we exchanged emails and I can email her about my ancestors and she said she would help me find out more about the area the lived in or anything that has to do with them who lived in northern Germany. So that was our first leg of our train trip, the second leg was just as good though! So me and Elder Hunt (my district leader in the MTC) were talking with this lady and she asked us about our name tags and what the meant... aka the golden question! And we told her about our church and she was listening and we gave her a pass along card and she kept asking more questions and we answered them as best we could and eventually we placed our first book of mormon! so in the first hour of being in Germany I placed my first Book of Mormon! Now I am in Landshut (country hat) with my trainer Elder Garrett! He is way sick we laugh like non-stop over stories that probably aren't all the funny and he really helps me learn and helps me work harder everyday. Things are good here in Landshut. All the Elders say that Landshut has one of the best wards in the entire mission and I would have to agree this is my favorite ward so far!! They have two families with youth and they are so funny. The Hopf´s have 6 kids and they have the coolest family. Their oldest daughter is 19 and the youngest son is 6 and he is the biggest ball of energy I have ever seen and just makes fun of us missionaries all the time and asked me questions and I have no idea what he is saying but its just funny to hear a little small voice speak faster and better german than i can haha. So bruder Hopf is the ward mission leader and at one point in time he was the number 5 Tae Kwan Do person in the world! So Friday morning me and elder Garrett went and did early morning exercise with him learning Tae Kwan Do. But the best part was how it happened because i kid you not it looked like we were filming karate kid 3. So we woke up rolled out of bed at 6 a.m. ran through an empty city with thickest fog around us. We then arrived at our destination... a ghetto basketball court in the middle of no where and our master was awaiting us. It just felt like a classic karate film the early morning practice thick fog and ghetto area to practice! So that´s the Hopfs. On Friday I also had my first Döner and boy was that good! I could eat a döner every day to be honest. On Sunday I had to give my first Zeugniss auf Deutsch in front of the ward and I did okay definitely wash´t perfect but I think they understood me and thats all the matters! Well I hope everything is going good at home and can´t wait to hear all the amazing stories you guys have!!
