Dearest Family and Friends!!

What a week!!! I never thought that I would look forward to the end of a school break so much, but I'm so grateful that it is over! Campus turned into a ghost town this week so we did our very best to stay busy while taking a few trips down to the stadium over our lunch breaks :)

Despite it being Spring Break we were able to teach Amy about the law of the fast, tithing, temples, eternal marriage, missionary work, service in the church, and a lot of other gospel topics and commandments, all over the phone! Her response to everything was "it all makes sense. nothing you are asking me to do is hard." She is progressing so quickly! We also taught Gibson who, when asked about how our Heavenly Father feels about him, said: "I KNOW he loves me." He has such an incredible spirit.

Easter time is coming up quickly!! Along with conference!! I'm so excited to hear from the Prophet and talk to everyone about the atonement!! #BecauseHeLives everything else will fall into place if we believe in Him!

I love you all!! Have a great week!!

Dear Family,

Well Elder Bates and I had a lot of fun this week and did a lot of
work! We have been trying to help one of our investigators, Claudio,
really just understand what the baptism can do for him. He wants to
get baptized but every time we get  close to a commitment date,
his life just gets really hard. So we went over to his house last
night and taught him about the Holy Ghost and how it can be a
constant companion for us after the baptism. He, Claudio, always tells
us that he can feel the Holy Ghost when he reads and even gets goosebumps.
He tells us he can feel the Holy Ghost when we meet and when he goes to church! So we
told him if he always wants to have that feeling. He told us Auf Jeden
fall will ich! We told him that through the Taufe we can do that! He
just wants the Holy Ghost to be there to help him have comfort and peace
because he is always so stressed! He is really recommitted to be
baptized and cant wait I hope that he will maintain this desire and
that it will bring him into the waters of baptism!

Love you all,

Hello Everybody!!

It has been an amazing week! We have been blessed in so many ways!

The best part of the week would have to be our temple trip!! :D

I love the temple so much. It is such an incredible place where the heavens are opened in so many various ways. I got so many answers to my questions and overall just felt God's love for His children!

I was so blessed to have the opportunity of doing temple work for Abigail Love. A distant cousin of the Bassett family! Although I don't know her personally I felt a connection with her as I went through the session.. Such an incredible blessing. Someone once said in a fast and testimony meeting that everyone in Spirit Prison is in a dark room. Every so often a door opens with light spilling out of the doorway. A name is called and someone is able to enter. Then the door shuts and there is only darkness. Our ancestors could be waiting in that room, praying for their name to be called.

Amy is amazing. She already has a family search account and is ready to do her own family names! I wish that I had started out my family searching with this much urgency and enthusiasm!

I love what I have learned this week!
and I love all of you!

Friends and Family,

Well we had a really cool experience this week!! Our Zone has really
been putting a focus on finding and especially effective finding,
instead of just saying lets work hard and aimlessly find people. We really
wanted work hard and smart! So we had a Power Hour of finding for the whole
zone last wednesday from 10 30 to 11 30. We were planning on going
home right afterwards to eat lunch and then get the stuff we needed to
go to this place in our area called Vaihingen Enz. We had a lesson to teach
there. Right as we were walking out the door, for Power Hour, I
had a strong feeling that we should grab all the stuff we needed for
the day. It was an inconvenience because it was just extra weight.
Right after Power Hour was over I said to Elder Bates,
"I think the Lord wants us to go to Mühlacker today", which is on the
way to Vaihingen Enz. We thought , well we have everything for the
lesson so if we go right now we can stop there for an hour and then go
to our lesson. So that is exactly what we did! And in this hour we
found 3 people that want to learn more about the church and gave out 4
books to people willing to read! It was just cool to see how something
so small earlier could turn into something so sweet later, as long as
we just listen to the small voice first! It was a testimony builder
for sure!!! Thanks for all the help you guys give me and the support
you have!! Have a fantastic week!!

Elder Jesse M Killpack March 9, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,

This week we were able to teach more lessons than we have the past
little bit. We had a great experience when a member from a different
ward called us and said that he had an appointment with an
investigator that lived in Delaware (this part was in the sisters area
but they didn't know and told him to call us.) We explained that
minor dilemma and said we would fill the appointment anyways. When we
got there she was ready to listen. She had great questions and the
member was basically a missionary. She recognized the spirit while we
were there and we reminded her that she could have that spirit when we
weren't there. She accepted the baptismal invite for the end of April.
She read and prayed and received her own personal witness. Her family
gave her a really hard time, though and during the rest of the week,
almost convinced her not to come to church. She did indeed come to
church and she loved it. The class was on the priesthood and
organization and she said, “Oh right.  That is why this is the true
church.” That was amazing. Sad we won't be teaching her anymore but
the sisters will. It's exciting that another person had that confirming
witness of the spirit that just can't be denied. This reminds me of a
less active member that we taught as well. We really talked about how
God really is testable. You just have to run the right test and have
the right instruments. God has given us one of the tests in the form
of reading the Book of Mormon and being able to pray about it. If the
answer comes blurry one time then there shouldn't be a reason not to
give it a second try. Scientific experiments aren't run only one time
to be conclusive. This less active has opened up a lot over the last
couple lessons. He really wants us to meet his wife as well but she
keeps having to work. We will likely be able to meet her this Sunday.

The next concept that I keep bringing up and I put as a background in
our phone is that you are always in the middle. President Uchtdorf
gave this thought as a first presidency message July 2012 and it has
stuck with me. When you put your life and compare it with Eternity you
really are in the middle. You existed for who knows how long before
and you will live for eternities afterward. The mission is no
different. Although my time as a full-time missionary is “closing” it
is just the middle of a life time of selfless service. President
Brigham Young taught, “If you go on a mission to preach the Gospel
with lightness and frivolity in your hearts, looking for this and
that, and to learn what is in the world, . . . you will go and return
in vain. . . . Let your minds be centered on your missions” I plan to
do my best to stay changed. I will need all of your help as well. I
will help you. We are all brothers and sisters and it is given to us
to lift and uphold one another. Let us be one family connected by our
covenants to hasten the work and work out our salvation. No man can be
saved alone, nor is that the plan that has been laid out before us.
Ponder these words: 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love
casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not
made perfect in love.19 We love him, because he first loved us.20 If a
man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that
loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he
hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who
loveth God love his brother also.(1 John 4) Being in the middle of the
ladder of perfection/ progression, let us have the perfect love to
help those ascending the ladder behind us rather than shut them down.
Let us have the humility to accept the loving hand from those that
have ascended beyond ourselves. I pray  like Nephi that many are
saved in the last day if not all of us. I thank you for everything
that you have done to help me get to this point and for the future
help you will undoubtedly render.

The reset is real!

Sister Bailey Jayne Love. March 9th 2015

This week we had some incredible things happen!!

Miracle number 1:
Prayers work!! I don't know who prayed for Tricena when I asked you too, but whoever it was you made this miracle happen! Tricena texted us out of the blue and said that she wanted to give our church another short. When we actually met she said that she didn't know who Jesus Christ was. After talking with her for 45 minutes Sister Slater and myself both got the impression that she needed the Plan of Salvation lesson. Unfortunately she had to go, but she left us with her questions. ALL relating to what the Plan teaches us. This church is true. It has all the answers. We are looking forward to answering her concerns.

Miracle number 2:
Elder Gordon H. Smith of the Seventy came to speak to us at our Stake Conference! The spirit was so strong and strengthened my testimony that God speaks to us today.

Miracle number 3:
President Daines spoke at the Adult Session of Stake Conference and he taught us about the power missionaries have as they are set apart.. He said something along the lines of "Just think about it.. We throw two 18 year old boys, which we call men; together, give them a brand new car; their own apartment; and tell them to get to work. Either they are truly the Lord's servants or we are crazy.. They seem to survive so they must have the Lord on their side". So that strengthened my testimony of how awesome it is to be a set-apart missionary! Theres NO WAY I could do this alone.

Miracle number 4:
Amy is progressing well! She came to Stake Conference and loved it! She reminds me of every other 8 year old in the church, so excited to get baptized! Yesterday we just looked up a ton of pictures of the temple and got her excited for that.

Miracle number 5:
It's getting warm!! No more Ohio winters for Sister Love!!

I could go on and on. I am so grateful for my mission. There are so many things to be grateful for! It has been the most challenging, exhausting, incredible, amazing experience of my life!! I love it

Have a great week!
Love you!
Sister Love

... I don't have any pictures to send this week, but Sister Slater and I found these awesome Mormon ads... Enjoy. Also a picture of the Columbus Ohio Temple!! "I'm going there this week!!!"

Dear Family and Friends,

Well Elder Bates is a great missionary! I love training because you learn so much from the one you are training. I have really enjoyed just seeing things like he does, in the sense that everything is new and exciting! We have had a little bit of a rough time with having appointments falling through, but it has given us the opportunity to do more finding! Finding can be difficult here in Pforzheim because just about everyone here is old and Catholic haha! I have learned a lot this last week with all the many discussions we have had on the streets! Sometimes you feel like if you aren't  seeing success and you aren't doing your part, but then when you look back on it you realize how much you yourself have grown.  You so much by learning  from the things you testify to those people who really just don't understand the significance of what you just told them! Those moments just make you really think about what you know to be true and reinforces it! It is definitely a testimony builder and I am so grateful for all the opportunities that we have to have so many growing experiences! Love you and thanks so much for everything!!!
