Sister Bailey Jayne Love. October 27, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,

This week was an incredible one! It started off slow. As if usually does. I was feeling really down about myself and about my mission. There got to a point when I even got angry that Heavenly Father wasn't giving us success. I'm so grateful for the atonement though and that He can forgive me of that. We went to interviews and President Daines obviously saw that I was down. He told me that the difference between having success and just working yourself to death is faith. So I had faith and we got someone put on date! Her name is Carla and she is on date for November 22. Hence the title: It can't be that easy.

But it is. God is always blessing us.

"Part of our challenge is, I think, that we imagine that God has all of His blessings locked in a huge cloud up in heaven, refusing to give them to us unless we comply with some strict, paternalistic requirements He has set up. But the commandments aren’t like that at all. In reality, Heavenly Father is constantly raining blessings upon us. It is our fear, doubt, and sin that, like an umbrella, block these blessings from reaching us."-President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I know that if we have faith we can truly move mountains (Matthew 17:20)

I hope that everyone can recognize all the little blessings in life and allow our Heavenly Father to give us even more than we can comprehend.

Another miracle! We found Eric! He disappeared on us for a while and we found him again! Talk about leaving the 99 and looking for the 1. My joy was certainly full.

OH! AND I always was able to go to the temple.. I've been pretty spoiled.

Thank you all for all the love and support you give me each and every day. I don't know where I would be without you. I love you all so much.
Love,

Sister Love

Family and Friends,

I am staying another transfer in LANDSHUT!!!! Crazy that two transfers are already gone haha But not wasted:):) I love the ward here they are so amazing. Thanks for all the prayers for the Auras family. They are doing well. They are a very strong family. I love them so much!!! They are the greatest examples to me, and to everyone in the ward. Things got pretty interesting last week with one of our new friends Von Unserer Wohnung. So this guy that we met a few weeks ago decided he wanted to meet with us, and told us that we should wait for him at the bottom of the stairs and then we will go and talk. So we did and when he got down there he said we have to hurry we need to catch the next bus and so we ran to the bus stop with this guy and got on. He told us that we didn't have to pay but we should just sit in the back and the driver won't do anything. We told him that we have to pay and so we did, even though he was trying to get us not to pay the whole entire time. After all of that, we sat down and he told us that he was going to go to the Casino and that we should join him. We told him we weren't allowed to go to the Casino. He then told us that he is a rapper and would rap for us and it would be so good that we will have to go into the Casino with him. He was seriously way good, but we still said no haha. So after 20 minutes of him rapping to us we finally got off the bus and he said to just wait 15 minutes for him and he would come out with 100 euro because God told him that he would win 100 euros if he went to the casino right now. Sure enough fifteen minutes later he came out and won 100 euros... Man was it crazy. He just went off  about how his faith was so strong and that is why he was able to 100 euros and was praising God. haha It was just the craziest day ever with this crazy man haha I keep saying crazy must be my favorite word ha!

Hope everything is going great back home,

Dear Family and Friends,

This week we had ups and downs. The good news is we taught Pilar and Ildefonso everyday until they left. I have had more daily lessons with them than with any one else on my mission.  Now they are in Mexico. I talked to them a little bit yesterday on Facebook and they say they are doing well. They are really happy to be with their kids again. Lots of families are broken up as they come here searching for better situations. It's really sad but in a couple months they will come back with their kids and hopefully they will already be baptized. We had an open house activity this past Saturday and we had thirty to forty people come. We got some of their information. One man angel stayed almost the whole time. We showed different videos on the main floor and upstairs we had little classes and downstairs snacks and other themes. Did I ever mention my building used to be a bank? There are huge safes still and everything. I'll try to get a picture soon. While we were closing up, the other elders got another man to come in and we showed him everything and we started to talk to him. He was relentless so I put the game mode on and asked him if he came to learn or to teach or what. And we read in the scriptures, he started being a lot more receptive. He left with a Book of Mormon and said he would come to church. He didn't come. But it's hard to explain everything that went down. He was just one of the people that read revelations all the time and then think they know everything. But it's fine. I read the bible a lot this week in Romans and there are so many doctrines that are easy to see if you already have the light. I then read the gospel of John in Latin comparing with the English, Spanish, and German. It really does expand your mind having all the different perspectives and seeing which phrases are different or taken out. It is a lot of fun. (Everyone should do it ). Thanks for all the birthday wishes and everything.
 I love you all!

Elder Jesse Killpack. October 20,2014

Dear Family and friends,

Thank you so much for the iPod. I love it. We listen to the David Archuleta song, Glorious,  a lot. Things have been slow but at the same time great here in Bridgeton. It's only slow in the daytime because we don't get to teach as many people. We had a miracle on Tuesday when we were walking around. A counselor from the Stake Presidency picked us up and we went looking for people we had contacted a long time ago and less actives. The GPS got us lost.  There  was a lady standing outside so we started talking to her about the gospel. Turns out, she has a good friend that is coming back to the church and is interested in searching more about the church. We came back a couple days later and taught the restoration. A member came with us that normally criticizes our way of teaching, but this time everything went great. She loved the story of how Joseph Smith was visited by Heavenly Father and Christ. She agreed to baptism! She had lots of interruptions this week so we couldn't teach her again yet but tonight should be good. She is very nice and has a family. The family from Tijuana goes back this week but they love everything we are teaching and Saturday they took half the lesson and just bore their testimonies to us. They said that they are going to share it all with their family in Mexico. I hope we made some missionaries in Mexico very happy! They even rebuked our member for not keeping the sabbath day holy. Pretty funny. Well I love you and am extremely grateful for the birthday wishes and everything. You're the best!

Dear Family,

This week we had the funeral for Simon Auras. It was such an amazing experience. We have a little small church building that can only fit 150 people when its completely full with chairs. When we were setting up for the funeral, a couple of days before it would happen, the dad, who is the Stake President here in Munich, said that they were expecting at least 300 people... We just didn't have room for that kind of number.  Luckily we were in Germany and they have what they call beer benches haha. They are just benches but it is just funny because you have to rent them from a beer warehouse, but it all worked out. They ended up fitting 250  people up top and downstairs. We sat another 70-80 people with a TV,  Broadcasting what was going on above us. This funeral was really beautiful! The older brother Jonas spoke who is only 17. He gave a really good heart warming talk about the life of his brother. It was really cool because there was a lot of non-members that attended this meeting. I can guarantee that they all felt that spirit. There was also something that I noticed during this funeral. The people that were there that weren't  members  had a somber spirit around them because they just don't know the Plan of Salvation. They were caring, but you could just feel the despair in their hearts. Then you look at the members and the family of the Auras's.  They were crying, but they had the knowledge of the bigger picture and what is going to happen after this life. It was just amazing to see that the knowledge and spirit of the gospel can bring so much joy in the hardest of times. I love this Gospel and everything that it does for us. This is the true church and the only way of coming to back to the presence of God!!! Thanks for all of the support. You guys are amazing!!!

Friends and Family.

First of all I want to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes this past week! It was the best birthday yet!!

A couple of big things have been happening as of late... All cool experiences for me and none for the people we're working with (yet!) So I feel selfish in thinking that it was a good week, but I learned a lot!

First off we had a lesson with a member and her neighbors. Right from the start I knew that they were not interested in learning more about the true restored church, but of ripping it apart. After our member bore pure testimony of the Savior and brought the Spirit in so strong they proceeded to tell us we were wrong and that we would have to pay severe consequences. The spirit left and after a while we started trying to address their concerns. I went to say something to defend our beliefs when the spirit told me not to say a word. Other than the time I was told to go on a mission that was the strongest prompting I have ever gotten. It was frustrating when references came into my head, but I knew that I should not open my mouth. We talked to our ward mission leader about it and he told us that the Scriptures are Holy and that they should never be used as a weapon.

Just a simple testimony to me that God knows the hearts of every one of His children.

On Sunday I was going through the usual feeling sorry for myself that usually happens once a week when our relief society lesson was on missionary work with President Joseph Fielding Smith. He served in England and didn't get one baptism (neither did Gordon B. Hinckley). He wrote home to his wife saying something along the lines of "I must stay out here (England) in complete obedience". Heavenly Father knows what we need and when we show Him obedience we are blessed.. No matter how hard the task is.

I love you all so much! Thank you again for everything you have done for me.
Stay strong.

This is who I spent my birthday with. Sister Smith. The cutest thing!!

Simon Auras

Dear Family and friends,

This last week on October 9th, Simon Auras an eleven year boy in our ward here in Landshut passed away... He was playing soccer on Tuesday night with his friends from school.  While they were playing he passed out. They called for the ambulance and they got him to the hospital as fast as they could. They were able to put him in an artificial coma while they were trying to figure out what was wrong with him. After all day Wednesday of looking for a solution they finally decided to fly him to Munich, to  the heart specialist. They were hoping he could take a look and  figure out what was wrong with his heart. During the flight he didn't make it. He died on Thursday. It is so crazy to me how fast things can change.  Elder Garrett and I were talking with Simon right before he went to play soccer with his friends. Who would have thought that that would have been the last time we were going to see him. The beauty of all of this, is how perfect God is and within that, how perfect His plan is. God puts everything and everyone in the perfect place at the perfect time. I haven't lost a brother or a son, but I have lost a family member and can feel that same shock and feeling of loss as this family has. God has called me here in this specific place to help and serve these people, and that includes the members like the Auras`s. I am so grateful for the humbling experiences of a mission, because that is when we do many things different. We begin to see that we can serve people better, we can let God build us up stronger the way he wants us to be, and when we are being humble we are closer to the spirit. That is when we have our strongest experiences. I want every single person who reads this letter, to know that I KNOW this is the true church, and I KNOW that the Plan of Salvation is true. And how beautiful and perfect that plan is. There is nothing that brings more hope than this plan. I love this church and everything that it has done for me and my family. Especially what it gives my family for ETERNITY. I love you guys so much. Until we meet again, God be with you!!!

Dear Family and Friends

This week went by really fast with a lot of mini miracles all around. (not that you can really ever measure the size of a miracle)

For one we gave our most progressing investigator George away to the Elders for obvious reasons (he's male and single) and so there goes that investigator! but that's why we are always working on finding!

We found a lot of people this week that show a lot of promise. I think that if there is anything I've learned on my mission so far is that faith in people are key. We have to have faith in everyone we meet because if we don't then we have immediately slowed their progression until the next set of missionaries meet them. It can be exhausting having that much faith, because our hopes often drop, but that's also why we have the Gift of the Holy Ghost as the Comforter. He makes it all better again.

Marysville is an incredible town that I love so much. It has the greatest potential and I know that one day it will be much larger than just one ward. I pray that I can help it grow in some way.

I love you all!

Dear Family,

I hadn't really understood the term "my joy is full" until our investigator couple came to church. We were really excited. We have been teaching them pretty much everyday. They keep having awesome experiences when we're not there. They're moving to Tijuana soon so we won't see their baptism but they will come back and we are going to come back for when they get sealed. They are always super excited when we show them pictures of the temple. So they are the most solid thing we have going right now. It's starting to get chilly and so we wear sweaters now. It's pretty fun and stylish. Meh. Well I am a lot better now at keeping my journal so that's another plus. I have one in English and one in Spanish. Some people judge me. I will just take time and translate it or teach my kids Spanish or both. It's whatever. Elder Minnich and Elder Turner went to the temple on Saturday with people they taught in and old area, so elder Hillstead and I taught both areas. We taught eight lessons together. It was fun. He's still pretty new but  has a great attitude about the work and is always positive. We have to work hard to build a more solid base.  When the couple leaves we will only have a couple of solid people and none of them are really that solid. But it's fine we are sent in to work and that's what we will do.

Dear Family and friends,
The week was slow apart from the family from Tijuana that wants to get
baptized. We taught them four times Sunday Wednesday Thursday and
Friday. They are super prepared. The only bad thing was that something
came up and they had to work this last weekend but they should have
future Sunday's off. It's really exciting. I haven't met many people
as prepared as they are. Other exciting news is that my old companion in
Atlantic city went back and is in the process of saving our converts.
I was really excited. So for the rest of the letter I will try to
select a talk from the conference for each sibling. Husbands can
share😇
Dad.   Richard G Scott. Side note he does his own Spanish translation!
Kim.   Allan F Packer
Kristen.      Pres. Uchtdorf, Priesthood.

Kimmy.     Ted R Callister
Olivia.  Larry S Kacher
Bailey   Quentin L Cook, Priesthood
Bobby.     Dallin H Oaks
Sammy.   Cheryl Esplin
Hannah.   Lynn G Robins
Max.         L Tom Perry, The Platypus

I thoroughly enjoyed this conference we need to all be preparing for
the end. Read Alma five and ponder the self evaluation. I am excited
to hear about your missionary efforts. Other side note. Four of those
speakers came to the Mtc while I was there. So that's pretty sweet.
This assignments do not mean you have problems with anything  they
teach but it will strengthen you in your day to day efforts and maybe
will help you with someone that is near you that you could help out
with this message. I love you all and hope you continue to follow the
counsel of the prophets.

Dear Dad,
This week was slower than last but it was all worth it when we were able to listen to conference. We were very excited. Although almost all of our investigators couldn't make it I felt a strength from the words they gave us. I really liked D. Todd christofferson's talk because we have a lot of people that say well every church is good and can be the right one. But in the end we have our own choices. It will always be left to us for we believe that through the atonement of Christ all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. I have thought as I read the Book of Mormon well maybe he did make it up and this is why he would say this but how could I turn against the witness of the Holy Ghost that made it evident the truthfulness of this book. It truly is a marvelous work and a wonder. As D&C tells us, can you receive a greater testimony than from God? I find solace in the scriptures and I try to ponder them more and more. I am grateful that I stand on the shoulders of spiritual Giants that have helped me through. Many have said that salvation is individual but I beg to differ because it can't be done alone no matter how smart you think you are or how strong and mighty you will always have to go trough Jesus Christ. You'll need an authorized priesthood holder to perform the ordinances. You need parents to give you life all the way back to Adam and Eve. How true it is that we without our dead cannot be made perfect. I love you and everything you have done to be an example. It is time we truly stick to the ship Zion and strengthen every one in his station.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve here in Ohio. I love it so much.

This past week was a good one. We taught our investigator George the Plan of Salvation and asked him to be baptized. He accept a date for the 25th, but proceeded to say "well I was going to be baptized in the Bible Baptist church anyways". We did our best to explain that the Priesthood power was absolutely necessary (again!) and that seemed to help.. haha he is a really good guy and I hope and pray that if he does get baptized that he stays true to the things that he has learned.

We got to watch a movie! with popcorn! I've never felt more apostate in my whole life, but President Daines said it was okay! He let us watch Meet the Mormons and it was really good. It was a really good way to introduce people to our church. Relating with President Bednar's talk, a lot of people think that we are just "those crazy Mormons". We have just seen the difference the Gospel has made and we want to share it.

“The invitations we extend to you to learn about and test our message grow out of the positive effects the gospel of Jesus Christ has had in our lives. Sometimes we may be awkward or abrupt or relentless in our attempts. Our simple desire is to share with you the truths that are of greatest worth to us.”

Conference was amazing as well.. I really enjoyed Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong's talk about how we need to work together to help both members and nonmembers alike.. Which is something that I have been really trying to help Marysville with. I'm not sure what more I can do to a ward that wants to go back to being a branch, but I know that Heavenly Father will lead us.

I love you all!

Dear Family and Friends,

Well this was the most eventful uneventful week ever... And by that I mean we were supposed to have a way busy week teaching a lesson everyday and two most of the days. But people decided that they just didn't want to keep their commitments and bail on our appointments. We only ended up having one lesson workout. It was rough everyday just having all of our investigators have something come up and not be able to meet with us. I know the Lord knows more than we do so it must have been apart of the plan for them to wait an extra week or so to hear what we have prepared for them.
General Conference was amazing. I love to think that these men are called of God and they, like the prophets of old, are crying unto to us to better follow Jesus Christ. I have realized something, and it has become completely real to me as well, the words of our Prophet is the exact same as the words of the prophets in the scriptures. Everything our prophet says is scripture. Think about that and then think about how well we  read our modern day scriptures that have been specifically written for our day under the direction of God. It is an amazing thought to have. Once we understand the true importance of the Prophet´s words then we can completely follow the words of the Prophet
