Sister Bailey Jayne Love May 27, 2015

What a week!!

So much happened that I don't even know where to start!!

Some of the lighter moments:
Sitting in on a Japanese lesson and nearly falling asleep
Someone yelling "BrigHAAAMMM Young was MuHAAMMmad!!" at us
Teaching "The champion" -- This young man from the United Arab Emirates that didn't understand a thing we were saying but still wanted us to know that he was the best at anything he attempted haha

And I'm sure that there is much much more!

Now onto the stuff that really matters. We had an incredible zone conference this past Wednesday where we were trained on a lot of things, but most importantly the Atonement!

For behold, I say unto you there be many things to come; and behold, there is one thing which is of more importance than they all—for behold, the time is not far distant that the Redeemer liveth and cometh among his people.-Alma 7:7

I wish you could all be there and feel the spirit that entered that room. The Atonement is so real!! Through the Grace of God we can all return and live with our Families FOREVER. But the best part of the Atonement is that we can CHANGE.

The day before this training we had someone tried to Anti us. Luckily He wasn't very experienced yet, but it still made for a frustrating 30 minutes. His argument was the regular "You work your way to Heaven!" I testified to Him that it is only through our Savior Jesus Christ that we can accomplish anything!! But that answer didn't satisfy him much mostly because he was closed off to the spirit.

The training was amazing because it helped me to reconfirm our Heavenly Father's plan. If we truly do have a Father in Heaven who loves us then why wouldn't we use to Atonement in our daily lives to repent, change, grow, become new, etc!!

If we were just sent here to return the same people that this whole life would be pointless!!

and that is something that has taken me a while to learn... but I'm so grateful for my Savior's sacrifice that Empowers me to become a better missionary and a better daughter to God.

I love my mission!!

Love you all!!

Hello Family,

This week was a slow one..With how many people there are on campus we figure that we have to walk at least 4 miles a day.. And that's just with contacting! We also have to walk to campus from our apartment which is at least 3 1/2 miles on its own.. AND we have to walk back every night. I know what all you foreign missionaries are thinking of having to walk at least 10 miles to get from village to village, but it's hard for little Sister Love. She has been used to a car mission for the past year or so now. (spoiled stateside problems)

I love being able to walk around and talk with everyone though. It's so much fun. I used to dread it. In fact I will be honest and say that I used to hate Ohio. I hated waking up at 6:30. I hated going to bed by 10:30. I hated that we couldn't go to the movies or even just relax. I hated not knowing what was going on in the world and not being able to have music. I hated the weather. I hated skirts. I hated a lot of it!

I'll remind you all that this was in my first couple of weeks. I got over that all very quickly. But it wasn't until a couple of nights ago that a new Sister came up to me and asked me if it will ever get easier that I realized something. I had to tell her that the answer was a big no. It doesn't get easier. We just get stronger. We learn to love the things that first made us cringe. I have learned to love Ohio with my whole heart. I love waking up at 6:20! I love going to bed by 10! I love not being in the world! I love not hearing the music that's popular now! I love the weather! I love skirts!! I love all of it!!!

Sorry for the spiel, but I'm so grateful that I have the privilege of serving a mission. I have learned and grown so much and I can't wait to see where the Lord will take me with my new testimony!

We taught Ethan this week. He is a devote Catholic who is having a really hard time letting go of his roots. Please keep him in your prayers! Our lessons are so powerful with the spirit leading them! I feel that a lot of times I just sit back and watch the spirit do it's thing.  He will have to come to a decision at some point, but a little bit of prayer never hurt anyone! I don't know if I have ever prayed for someone so hard in my life. I love him a lot and I know that his life will change if he accepts this gospel.

Wow... LONG letter! Sorry!
Go do something productive with your life now!
much Love,
Sister Love

ps.. we got a tour of the stadium.. That's Braxton Miller's Locker everybody!!!

Hello Family and Friends,

Well it was the week of transfer calls, and I will be going to
Austria. I will be serving in the Innsbruck branch! So basically right
in the middle of the ALPS!!! And I will be able to go to Italy every
other week! It is going to be so sweet! I will also be a trainer still
while I am down there! I am really sad to leave Pforzheim though. We
have been having a lot of success here and I really think they will
have one, probably two, baptisms before the end of the summer. But I
am glad that I was just able to do my part in finding those people and
getting them started in the right direction! It has just been a
miracle watching the Lord hasten His work. Because of the Lord´s help,
we were able to triple the amount of lessons we had from the first
transfer I had with Elder Bates to this Transfer. I don´t have words
to describe how grateful I am for all the experiences I have had here
in Pforzheim and for all that I have learned here. I love this work so
much, and I am excited for a change and hopefully can make a change
there! Love you all and thanks so much for everything that you have
done for me!!!

Elder Killpack

Well I made it to Innsbruck in one piece after a rather hectic week of
transfers! We had a German train strike, so we had to take a bus from
Stuttgart to Munich... Not so much fun:) And then we went to Salzburg
on a train, luckily, then from there to Innsbruck! It is
super pretty here, or from what I have seen. It has just been raining
the whole time so I havent even seen the full mountain range yet.
I am assuming it will be good:) Elder Erickson is my companion! I am
finishing up training him, which means 6 more weeks of the District...
Missionaries will understand... But it is great! He is a great guy. He
is from Oregon. So now my only companion in the field that I have had
from Utah was my trainer. Everyone else is not from Utah, weird huh?
And fun thing of the day, Yesterday we went to Italy and I had me some
Pizza and Lasgna in Italy!!!!!!!!!! It was rather good! Eating lasgna
in the Alps in Italy... Sorry making you jealous?? Who would have
thought that a missionary serving in a german speaking mission would
make it to Italy? Well I did it! Sweet:)

Love,
Elder Killpack

Running like Crazy!

Dear family and friends!!

OSU is doing amazing! It's getting hot here though. But the cold doesn't stop missionary work so why would the heat?! The work will continue to progress!!

We definitely saw that on Sunday! While working really hard all week to do everything in our power to help people come to church we were blessed with so many tender mercies!

In the first sacrament meeting no one that we had invited came... until a ward member brought in a former investigator and the former's mother! Since they are both from mainland China we got them!! (or should I say Sister Lai got them...)

Right after sacrament meeting just as Sister Lai was about to start her improv Chinese Gospel Principles class another potential that we had met wanted to come to church, but had gotten lost.. so we literally ran about a quarter mile to find him, bring him back, and then proceeded to teach all 3 new investigators about God and having an eternal family

The second sacrament meeting someone we had just met the day before texted us saying that he couldn't find the church. We didn't think he was sincerely interested in coming but nevertheless he wanted to, but was lost! So in between Sister Lai being the organist (she is crazy talented!) we ran the quarter mile once again to find him!!!

God blesses us in some many ways, but sometimes I think he has to chuckle at how we go about receiving these blessings.. luckily Sister Lai and myself run about 2 miles every morning so we can handle it ;)

Mothers Day was AMAZING! I love my family so much! You really are so incredible. I don't know what I would do without you!!

A quick plug about Mother's from Gordon B. Hinckley.
“Women who make a house a home make a far greater contribution to society than those who command large armies or stand at the head of impressive corporations. Who can put a price tag on the influence a mother has on her children, a grandmother on her posterity, or aunts and sisters on their extended family?
We cannot begin to measure or calculate the influence of women who, in their own ways, build stable family life and nurture for everlasting good the generations of the future. The decisions made by the women of this generation will be eternal in their consequences. May I suggest that the mothers of today have no greater opportunity and no more serious challenge than to do all they can to strengthen the [home]”

I love all the mother figures in my life!! Thank you for all that you do!
Love,
Sister Love

This just in.....

Well I don't have a lot  of time today but I wanted to share a story
with you guys that happened this week.

The other day I was getting up in the morning and was saying my
early morning prayer and the next thing I knew I was asleep again...
(Sorry, I know it isn't good to fall asleep again so sorry for being
disobedient!) But ya, I fell asleep and then I had the most amazing
dream I have ever had in my life. At least one of the most amazing dreams. I
was sitting in an apartment with three other Elders. Elder A, Elder B,
and Elder Bates. Elder B was just sitting off doing whatever, I cant
remember, but Elder A and Elder Bates were having a very intense
conversation about how there is only one way to be with God again and
only one right way to do to it. Elder A was being like a lot of
investigators that we have and saying that everyone has their own way and
as long as we find that way we will be saved.  Elder Bates was just
going really hard with the scriptures to show how the scriptures say
there is only one right way. He was  trying to beat it into Elder A what
was right. After about what felt like 20 minutes of them just talking
about this topic I decided to join in the conversation. I started to give testimony of what I thought was true and how I felt about it.  Then, what felt like
only thirty seconds, I felt myself separate from the conversation. I
couldn't see myself.  I was still in my body but my mind had separated
and just started watching the scene unfold. Now, as that Happened I
noticed my voice had changed. It was one of the most soothing voices I have
ever heard but at the same time the most POWERFUL voices I have ever
heard. ( Sound Familiar?) As soon as I noticed I wasn't speaking, I
also noticed who was... It was the voice of the Lord. And when I
noticed that, I decided to just forget everything else and just listen
to what He had to say about the subject. I learned so much in such a
short minute and I KNEW that what He was saying was true. He said, God
created us all. When He created us He set up a plan for us and within
this plan  he gave us laws we had to follow to achieve this plan. Now
if our God is the same yesterday, today and forever, then He cannot
change what He has already sent us as a LAW. Now because He cannot
change that Law, we know and ALREADY AGREED to that law. Thus making
the Law valid for everyone and the Law says that we have to do certain
things with the proper authority, (or in the right way) in order for
it to count. That is why there is only one way. Our  job isn't to
create a way, but to find the way He has already prepared for us.

I want you all to know that what I experienced isn't a lie or a
deception. It is real, it is the truth, and it was Him teaching. I
cannot deny it. I don't know why I was able to experience something like
this but I am so grateful I was.  I hope that I can help people
to know that there is truth in the Church of Jesus Christ, with HIS
power and authority! I am so grateful to live during a time where His
priesthood is here on the Earth. I love you all and hope you can feel the
power of this message that our Heavenly Father wants us to know!

Elder Robert Scott Killpack. May 4th, 2105

Hello All,

Well this week was great once again! We were able to have interviews
with President Kohler. He is really one inspired man. He helps out so
much and loves this work more than anyone that I know! He is so
amazing! So ya interviews were great. We have a week and a half until
transfer calls so we will see what happens! I have been here a while
so you never know what will happen! We finally were able to meet with
that Italian guy again! He fell off the face of the earth for about a
month but we taught him yesterday. It was a great lesson! He said
he just got over worked and stressed so he didnt have a lot of time to
meet but wants to meet more often and will come to church (even if it
is only for the last hour)! He is great! And that girl we have been
teaching is doing AMAZING! She is making so much progress. We were
teaching the Plan of Salvation and were asking here what she thought
would happen after this life, (before we had said anything)  she
literally taught us the truth. Or in other words she already believes
the same things we believe!!!!! Man it was incredible to see that!
She is just SOOOOOOOO ready!! I know she will make it to the end and
be baptized! Love you all so much! Have a fantastic week!!!

LOVE,

Elder Killpack

Sister Bailey Jayne Love May 4th 2015

So much has happened this week! I don't even know where I should start.

First things first..
Saturday marked the 9th year since my beloved Father has been gone.. add 12 additional family members, an increased love for my Savior, more understanding of our Heavenly Father's love and here we are today! I am so grateful for the trials that have come my way and now for the opportunity to teach others about the peace that they can find through Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

Saturday started off with taking one of our recent converts, Damon, to the temple. Damon grew up in mainland China with no concept of God. Without God he couldn't find the peace he was searching for. I didn't get to see his conversion process, but I'm so grateful that I was able to see the look on his face as he sat in the temple for the very first time. I was overcome with the thought of my Father doing the same work that I'm doing only for those that have passed on. I'm so grateful to be where I am and I'm so grateful that my Dad is where he is as well.
All is as it should be in Heavenly Father's plan.

Another plug I wanted to put in was for the most incredible person I know. My Mother.. I love her so much. She has been through hell and back and has the spiritual stamina to prove it. I love her so much and know that I would not be the person I am today without her.

With love,

Sister Love

Dad on his mission in Japan.
