Elder Jesse Killpack, January 13, 2015

Family and Friends,

Elder Riley is from Idaho he started the same time as Elder King. We
have been getting along great. I have had 5 companions from Idaho. We
had two people at church this week. They are from Haiti and the wife
speaks a little Spanish and the husband even less in English. So we
say everything twice and then she will usually translate to French or
creole. Takes a lot of patience but they are excited to get baptized.
They are just waiting on paperwork so that they can be married. So
life is good. It is raining pretty hard today but it was freezing on
Wednesday. No bueno. But it warmed up again to the high forties, low
fifties. We found a man named Shane who has lost a daughter mother and
grandmother to death the last year, his wife just took
off, and he is getting evicted. His life is rough. Because of that
he has been opened to receive the gospel. Hopefully he can make it to
be baptized in March. We have to give it our all because you only have
one life worth living. 2015 has seemed to be a hard start for a lot of
people that we teach in Salisbury. But I have been doing well and
we get to play basketball here. I'm trying to get the video from the other night
because some people from the Adventist church came to play and their
buddy was filming the game. It was sweet. Oh and there are streets
here named Adventist street, baptist street, etc.  I have come to
realize that old white ladies that are not already members are not
interested and to never knock on their door again. Haha that's why we
stick to the Hispanic families. But yep life is good in the hood.

Love

Elder Killpack
